He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message
as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by
sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

[ Titus 1:9 ]

What does discernment have to do with counseling? Everything! Without discernment, we will be deceived. And whenever we are deceived, our lives and relationships are increasingly impacted, if not dominated, by falsehood.

There is no segment of the church that is more influenced by “fine-sounding” worldly wisdom, subtle “tickling of the ears,” and even barefaced false teaching than the area of counseling. Hence, the desperate need for biblical counsel and discernment for all Christians—especially for those who receive any type of counseling or who read Christian books on relationships, love, and how to change. If we are not actively and continually practicing discernment, then we will be deceived.

This section of our website is designed to help you to be aware of false teachings in the church, to detect falsehoods, to know the truth, and to help others do the same.
